Gaddafi stadium is the fourth largest stadium in Pakistan with a capacity of 27,000 spectators. Currently, the stadium’s upgrade is almost complete for the upcoming mega event ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The tournament’s final is expected to be played in Lahore given that India do not qualify. The ground’s upgradation work is in its last stages as one screen stand has been installed while another is near completion. Seating renovations are also underway.

First floor is almost finished and is in its final touch while the remaining floors aur also progressing. Nearby buildings are not demolished but are refurbished, the renovation is expected to be completed in two weeks.

Gaddafi Stadium has previously hosted finals of Pakistan Super League and most probably will host the final of Champions Trophy. The tournament will begin from 19th February and last until  9th March with a total of 15 matches to be played.

While 3 of the matches featuring the Indian team will be played in UAE and if they qualify further to semi-final and final, then a total of 5 matches will be played in UAE. The remaining, however, will be played across the three cities of Pakistan (Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi Stadium).

The first match of the tournament will be played in Karachi on 19th February with the host and defending champion Pakistan vs New Zealand. The Final will be played on 9th March 2025 either in Lahore or UAE depending on the situation.

Lahore has been a great place to visit for fans and players and with the grounds being upgraded, it is expected that it will provide a decent experience for the spectators coming for the tournament.

With the tournament hanging just around the corner, we hope that the renovation gets completed real quick and we get to witness the finest display of cricket in our favourite ground.
